We are a responsible supplier and we believe it is our duty to do all we can to reduce our impact on the environment. Our carbon footprint policy has laid the groundwork for how we aim to monitor, control and ultimately reduce our carbon emissions as well as having a robust in-house policy in place to ensure we are all informed, environmentally active and socially responsible in our business and private lives.

We work our suppliers to ensure the products we supply come from sustainable sources.

All the Flavia coffees and Teas are from the Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certified growers who committed to improving the lives of farmers, their families and the environment in these communities. Helping to improve farming methods that can produce better quality products and can help drive higher income and improved standards of living for farmers and their families.

Plastic Stirrers

In September 2018 UK Vending was swapped the supply of plastic stirrers to wooden stirrers which are produced from sustainable forest.

Re-Usable Coffee Cup

We have introduced new ranges of sustainable paper cups which can be more easily recycled or composted. We added range of E-Coffee re-usable cup, of which 50% is made from Bamboo.

All our staff now use E-coffee Cup saving 100's of paper cup going into the waste bins.

Recycling Water Filters

Our recycling programme doesn’t stop there though because we also recycle the water filters used in UK Vending's range of vending, coffee and water coolers. Working with BRITA who plant ensures all parts of the water filter are property reused or recycled.

Recycling End of Life Machines

Even the vending machines themselves when they come to the end of their serviceable careers are recycled in an environmentally friendly manner under the terms of the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive. In short, these items will never find their way into landfill.

Reducing our waste

At UK Vending we have taken some simple and easily achieved measures to help in our environmental policy.

100% of our used cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, pallet wrapping are all recycled, and we have now achieved 99% Zero Waste to landfill.

We reduce printer ink usage by 95% by replacing the many printers with a single central printer. Furthermore, we have reduced our paper usage by 98% by replacing our paper system with cloud base tablet system.

Recycling makes sense; it saves cost to your business as well as protecting the planet. At UK Vending we have always been a good neighbour to other businesses and we practiced Corporate Social Responsibly (CSR) before anyone else caught on to it.

Reducing our energy use

We have also reduced our electricity usage by over 80% by installing 120 solar panels (thats 30,000 watts) on our office and warehouse roof producing 30,000 kWh of electricality per year.
We are replacing our lights with LED in the coming year and upgraded our air conditioning to more efficient system.
