World Water Day
Today is World Water Day 2023. A day when those of us with access to clean, inexpensive and life giving water can reflect on how lucky we are and to spare a thought for those that have no access to water. The day was first observed in 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared March 22 as World Day for Water. This day was first formally proposed in Agenda 21 of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
World Water Day is held every year on March 22nd to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water.
Aligning with this important event, Planet Water Foundation has developed a key activation to make a focused impact during this period, where together with their supporters, they provide life-changing access to clean, safe drinking water to impoverished communities around the world.
