If there was ever a National Day we can all get behind, today’s is surely one that we can because today is Milk Chocolate Day. Yes, the lovely sweet stuff is being celebrated throughout the world today.
Milk chocolate is something that everyone knows what it is right? Well you might be surprised by to learn some of its history. Chocolate is usually of the dark variety and it becomes milk chocolate when combined with either powdered, liquid or condensed milk. The most popular of all chocolate bars sold contain milk chocolate. From the mid-17th century, milk was sometimes added to chocolate beverages, but in 1875 Daniel Peter invented milk chocolate by mixing a powdered milk developed by Henri Nestlé with the liquor.
