Green Kit Kat anyone?
We all know the jingle, ‘Have a break, have a Kit-Kat’. Well now you can have your choice of colour of Kit Kat too, last year UK Vending told you about the Pink coloured Kit Kat, well in 2019 we want to introduce you to the Green Kit-Kat, all the way from Japan.
The Green variant of this sweet is flavoured with Matcha green tea, hence the green colour of the chocolate. It was first introduced to Japanese sweet tooth’s in 2004 but Nestle have now introduced it to United Kingdom shops too.
So, what makes this Kit-Kat so different? Well the green tea matcha powder is mixed with the cocoa butter and white chocolate to make what the manufacturers describe as a ‘sweet and fragrant flavour’. Currently Nestle are making the green Kit-Kat’s out of their factory in Hamburg, but this will soon spread across Europe to include plants in Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom.
In the UK we know of just a handful of the flavours of Kit Kat sold around the world with flavours as diverse as baked sweet potato, melon and cheese and chestnut, yummy?
In Japan alone there are 350 different varieties of Kit Kat on shop shelves.
