Do your colleagues use tea to waste time?
We’ve all been there, a colleague offers to make a round of tea or coffee and they are gone an awful long time from their desk, well perhaps they are using making the tea break as a time waster at the office.
A new poll of 2000 workers by the financial services company Hitachi Capitol found that up to 29 percent confessed to taking ‘ages’ to serve cuppas to colleagues whilst 17 percent admitted to go to the loo simply to get away from their desks and their workload.
Nine percent of those in the study also confessed to regularly looking for excuses to dodge their work. The top time wasting activity was found to be gossiping with co-workers which 55 percent said they did to escape working.
