UK Vending Ltd Environment Policy
The company has reviewed its environmental performance and practises and has identified the business activities, products and services that interact with the environment. Our policy provides a framework for setting our environmental objectives and targets. We are committed to compliance with all applicable environmental legislative and other requirements to which we subscribe, and within reasonable economic means, to:
- 1. To avoid reduce or control pollution of air, land and water wherever possible.
- 2. Strive continuously to improve our environmental performance.
- 3. Minimise the creation of waste and wherever possible establish a use for such waste.
- 4. Ensure, where practicable, all vehicles and equipment are as environmental and fuel efficient as possible.
- 5. Ensure, where practicable, efficiency in the use of energy, water and other natural resources.
- 6. Work with our supply chain to identify environmental opportunities.
- 7. Ensure our policy is communicated to our employees, suppliers, contractors and other interested parties.
- 8. Note and take into account the views of the public and other interested parties with respect to the environment.
- 9. To reduce wastage to a minimum and to recycle materials to the maximum.
- 10.Comply to the WEEE regulations 2007. All electrical/electronic equipment has to be recycled.
- 11.To liaise with suppliers and customers to facilitate the best possible environmental practices in the manufacturing and installation chain, and promote the recycling of materials.
- 12.Publicise to all employees, ensuring that they are aware of their own responsibilities within it, and to interested parties.
- 13.Endeavour to work closely with the relevant statutory bodies to meet all applicable legislation, regulations and contractual obligations and shall seek to make continuous improvements to reduce its impact on the environment.
- 14.Adopt systems and procedures that avoid the unnecessary use of raw materials.
- 15.Use products, where appropriate, that are recycled, or are obtained from suppliers that follow sound environmental and ethical principles.
- 16.Monitor our energy and utility usage with a view to ensuring efficiency, and seek to set targets for reduction where this is practicable.
- 17.Review the feasibility of using fuel and energy from renewable sources for our premises and our vehicles.
- 18.Develop and follow a waste management strategy that aims to minimise waste produced, and adopt the principles of re-use and recycling where feasible.
- 19.Periodically carry out ·cradle to grave· audits of waste removed from our premises by non-local authority contractors, to ensure that all aspects of carriage and disposal are transacted responsibly and in accordance with the law.
- 20.Closely review the methods of business travel by staff, and encourage the adoption of the best practicable means of travel, taking into account: the environmental impact, economic constraints, clients´ requirements, and the comfort of the individual.
- 21.Review the transport and vehicle arrangements to gain the best balance possible between minimising the environmental impact and needs of the business.
- 22.Offer information and training to our staff in environmental awareness, to enable them to participate in improving our environmental objectives.
- 23.Co-operate with clients who seek to develop their own environmental management systems.
- 24.Encourage, promote and share examples of best practice.
- 25.Carry out an annual review of the effectiveness of this policy at Board level to ensure that organisational and procedural arrangements to meet these objectives are suitable, sufficient and properly resourced.
It is in the interest of both the company and the employee to operate the business in the most economic manner.
Employees should, therefore, avoid unnecessary waste, switch off unwanted lights and equipment and make economical use of equipment and facilities.

All cup collections are made in accordance with current legislation covering the transfer of waste, with documentation provided where necessary, and complies with the new Packaging Waste Regulations. The recycled product is then converted into plastic components, which are then used inside the Klix Drinks Vending machines.

Company offices and warehouse are located in new, energy efficient buildings. Offices are located centrally to geographical service area, therefore reducing fuel usage.
